Badoura State Forest
The Minnesota Deer Hunters Association (MDHA) protected and added 160 acres to the Badoura State Forest in Hubbard County, Minnesota. The 160 acres are adjacent to Muckey Creek which is trout stream and has trails that allow access to hundreds of acres of public lands. This project secured public access for hiking, hunting, fishing, berry picking, photography, bird watching and a variety of other outdoor activities. The lands will be managed to benefit wildlife, preserve clean water, support our forest industry and promote a healthy forest.

MDHA received a Conservation Partners Legacy Grant titled Muckey Creek Critical Habitat Acquisition. Funding for this project was provided by the Outdoor Heritage Fund as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature and recommended by the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council (LSOHC) to restore, protect and enhance Minnesota’s wetlands, prairies, forests and habitat for fish, game and wildlife.
